🥟 Chinese

Chinese food here mostly means Korean-Chinese cuisine. It centers on dishes that evolved uniquely in Korea, such as jjajangmyeon, jjamppong and tangsuyuk, alongside more mainland-style dishes like malatang, xiaolongbao and guobaorou.

These restaurants are great at delivery and single portions, so they're easy for solo meals. In a group, you can share one main dish plus a meal each.

Tips for choosing

  • Jjajang (black bean) dishes are mild and filling. Jjamppong dishes are mostly spicy and contain seafood such as shrimp, clams and squid.
  • Fried dishes (tangsuyuk, kkanpunggi, yuringi) are on the greasy side. On a day you want something lighter, try fried rice or beef noodle soup.
  • Many mala restaurants let you choose the spice level, and some sauces contain peanuts.
