🍢 Korean Snacks

Bunsik means simple Korean snack-bar food such as tteokbokki, gimbap, ramyeon, sundae and twigim (fritters). It's cheap and fast, perfect for a busy lunch or an afternoon snack.

Tteokbokki alone comes in many styles, from soupy to jjajang, rosé and cheese, and it's great for sharing with gimbap and fritters.

Tips for choosing

  • This is the easiest category on a tight budget. Most dishes cost around ₩5,000.
  • Tteokbokki, rabokki and jjolmyeon are usually spicy. If you avoid heat, choose jjajang tteokbokki, gimbap or fish cake soup.
  • Rice cakes, noodles and batter often contain wheat. Some shops use rice-only cakes, so ask if you have a wheat allergy.
